Supergirl’s Dreamer Will Be Fortnite’s First Transgender Character

When you read this, the latest Fortnite update should be live, and it will add another DC hero to the game’s roster of crossover characters. Dreamer comes with the v21.50 update. This is the first time that a transgender character has been added to Fortnite.

The following tweet from Hypex shows that Dreamer has been added to Fortnite or will be added in the near future (via ResetEra). There are a lot of new skins, items, and emotes on display, including Dreamer in the top left corner. The tweet shows that Dreamer will be part of a bigger set. This means that she will probably also get a few of her own items in Fortnite. It also shows that she will be for sale in the Fortnite shop.

With the addition of Dreamer to Fortnite, the game now has its first transgender character. Another first for the superhero from DC. Dreamer was added to the show Supergirl, which has since been cancelled. She was the first trans superhero to show up on TV. In a twist on how DC and Marvel heroes usually work, Dreamer started out on TV and then moved to comic books.

Dreamer and her set won’t be available to buy until we know more about when, but it seems likely that she will be added around the time of Fortnite’s annual LGBTQ+ event. Earlier this year, it was announced that the Rainbow Royale event will be back in September, which is a great time because Dreamer is coming soon. Fortnite also has an ongoing relationship with DC, and Dreamer will join characters like Batman and Aquaman who have been in The Loop for a while.

Now that Dreamer is part of Fortnite’s history, players have had to say goodbye to the Impostors. The LTM was first added more than a year ago, but it was put on hold today when the v21.50 update maintenance went live. It’s not clear why it was taken out, but it probably made way for the Late Game Arena.
