London police arrested a teenager – suspected of leaking GTA 6

As part of an investigation by the UK’s National Cyber Crime Unit, police in London have arrested a 17-year-old boy who is suspected of hacking crimes. Police officials haven’t said anything else about the arrest, but some inside sources say it has to do with a hacking group that is blamed for the data breach at Rockstar that led to the leak of more than an hour’s worth of footage of the still-in-development GTA 6.

No statement has been made by the police or the FBI that says for sure that the teen’s arrest is related to the Rockstar breach. Sources say that the investigation is still going on and that more arrests could be made before police make a public statement. The teenager is still in police custody, and no information about who he or she is has been made public.

The group called “Lapsus$,” which is thought to have been behind the GTA 6 breach, is also thought to have been behind data breaches at Uber, Microsoft, and Ubisoft.
