Do Your Commissions Daily
If you only take away one thing from this guide, let it be that you should do your commissions every day. It’s literally free Primogens, which are Genshin Impact’s premium currency. You will get 60 of these rare gems every day if you do all of your jobs. You can do these once you reach Adventure Rank 12 and complete the World Quest “Every Day a New Adventure.”
Use Your Everyday Resin
Resin is a lot like your daily energy. You don’t need it for story quests or general exploration, but you do if you want to get rewards from boss fights, farm EXP and gold from the Blossom of Revelations and Blossom of Wealth, or farm artefacts and materials to improve your character. Resin is important for powering up, so make sure you get the most out of it.
Also, when your Adventure Rank is 25, talk to Liyue and raise your reputation rank to 3. Then, you’ll be able to craft Condensed Resin, which will cut the time you need to do some of these tasks in half.
Do Not Use Your Fragile Resin Until You Are AR 45
As you move through Genshin Impact, you’ll get a number of Fragile Resin items, which give you an extra 60 Resin. It might be tempting to use this whenever you need it, but you should save it to AR 45 instead.
This is because you won’t be able to farm artefacts as well until then, but if you take on the hardest difficulty in any artefact domain, you’re guaranteed to get a five-star artefact. Just don’t use them until later in the game when you need to farm. Please.
Look into everything
Genshin Impact is a huge game where you can go wherever you want. Exploring is your best friend because there are so many chests, items, teleport waypoints, and side quests to find. You also get Primogens when you open chests and do other things, so it’s worth your time.
Write things down on a map
Mark it on your map if you see something you don’t know how to get yet. The world of Teyvat is so big that it’s hard to keep track of, and you’ll forget if you don’t use the pin system. You’ll want to have found everything there is to find at some point, so use the fact that you can leave yourself notes to help you in the future.
World Quests Will let you get into more worlds
In Genshin Impact, the quests are put into different groups. Story Quests are unique to each character, Archon Quests are the main storyline, and World Quests usually give you access to new areas you couldn’t reach before. Make sure to finish World Quests as soon as you can, because you’ll often find new bosses that give you new materials or other things to farm or explore.
Think About How Your Team is Made Up
Genshin Impact is all about how your team works together. You can build your team in almost an infinite number of ways, but make sure you’re thinking about it. If you have two characters from the same element on your team, for example, you can get a variety of bonuses for different builds.
Most of the time, it’s best to have a healer or a shielder on your team to help you stay alive, a character who does most of the damage, and two other characters who help your main damage dealer. There aren’t many wrong ways to put together a team, but you should still give it some thought.
Read What Happens to Your Characters
Our last point in this Genshin Impact beginner’s guide is that you should read what your characters do. A lot of characters will do better if they have HP or Elemental Mastery instead of just attack. Min-maxing can help you get the most out of a character, but you have to know which stat to focus on.
Also, most DPS characters should have a crit rate of around 70% and crit damage of at least twice that. There is a lot of math going on in the background of each fight, so it can change, but this is a good rule of thumb.

While we’re talking about getting Primogens, Blessing of the Welkin Moon is a good deal if you’re not sure what, if any, purchases you should make. You’ll get 300 Genesis Crystals right away, which you can use to make Primogens. You’ll also get 90 Primogens every day for 28 days. If you have this and do your daily commissions, you’ll be able to do a 10-pull in the wishes every ten days or so.
